Mubarak: New housing, land reclamation facilities

Mubarak with the governmentIn his meeting with the housing committee Wednesday February 15, President Mubarak stressed the need for abiding by timetables to carry out different projects contained in his election platform in order to provide job opportunities, contain over-population, establish further industrial cities, ease burdens on the limited-income brackets, develop slums and upgrade services' quality. The meeting was attended by Premiere Ahmed Nazif, along with other cabinet ministers.

In statements after the meeting, Presidential spokesman Ambassador Sulieman Awwad said that Mubarak's meeting with the cabinet housing committee took up three topics which are the public services, including potable water and sewage system, procuring houses for young people and low-income categories and urban planning for cities and villages throughout Egypt.

Meanwhile, the president gave directives to the government to conduct feasibility studies for the establishment of new industrial cities in order to provide more jobs, referring to the experience of New Salheya city and industrial zone in Quesna.

The president, also, stressed that the population should be aware of policies, programs and accomplishments.
