Political organizationThe elections of the National Democratic Party, due to be held from base to top in accordance with the Party's Statute approved at the 2002 Congress, will take place on August 18 through October 3 in 7555 units nationwide.

The elections held under the banner "Proceed to leadership ranks" propose to broaden the base of political participation particularly among youth and women alongside workers and farmers.

The Party announced that it will allocate two seats for youth and another two for women in every party unit of 20 elected members. This step is taken with the purpose of encouraging youth and women to participate in party activities.

Balloting will be take place when a quorum of 30 per cent of the electoral collage has been reached. Vote counting will be held at governorate-based NDP secretariats. Afterwards, results will be referred to the central Party Secretariat.

Party elections provide an opportunity for young leaderships to pump new blood into the NDP.
