The current internal elections in 7555 units in the National Democratic Party to choose 20 members for every unit mean many things. First, the NDP members who hit 2 millions enter these elections to choose more than 150,000 new cadres and leaderships in the ruling party. Second, by doing so, the NDP implements its by-law endorsed in the 8th NDP annual congress which will benefit the party in the next stage.
Third, the internal NDP elections would provide a full archive for every city or village in Egypt to the decision maker. This democratic archive presents the NDP members who are qualified to run for the People's Assembly and the Shura Council elections, municipal elections or even to choose executive leaderships in the cities, villages and governorates such as mayors, governors and presidents of universities as well as experts of local and administrative development.
The best result out of the NDP internal elections is to fix the culture of participation in making the political decision which we seek to activate in the community in order to rid of the silent majority. In fact, Egypt is in dire need for boosting the culture of democracy to address many issues in the political life.
