Preparations are under way for the National Democratic Party grassroot elections due on August 18 through September 10.
Twenty members will be elected for each of the 7,500 NDP units in the various governorates as five more members will be appointed then at each unit.
Out of all NDP members, seven will be chosen to form the NDP unity office.
"Candidates will file applications to run in the elections on Sunday through Tuesday", said NDP Secretary-General Safwat el-Sherif.
Sherif called on voters to make a strong turnout, especially be youths, noting that there were two seats for youths and two others for women in each NDP unit.
He added that the elections aim at expanding the political participation, boosting the democratic life and decision-making.
