As part of the utmost attention paid by President Hosni Mubarak for deepening the democratic process in Egypt as well as widening the effective participation by elements who are characterized with devotion to the country and capable of getting involved with the masses to solve their problems, President Hosni Mubarak presided over a meeting yesterday by the political bureau of the National Democratic Party to consider measures and preparations for holding the 9th congress of NDP, scheduled for 3 November as well as issues to be tackled by the congress.
In addition to this, the measures concerning NDP election conferences came under discussions.
As usual President Mubarak showed utmost interest in the issues of the country, stressing the need that the questions to be referred to the congress for discussion should be realistic and question of economic reform should be given priorities, as well as promoting exports, and making available work opportunities.
The president stressed that all issues should be realistic and linked to the needs of citizens, urgingto pay more attention to the issues of the youth and woman.
Also, the President underscored the need to focus on Upper Egypt in terms of boosting investments, in addition to developing agriculture process, the housing field and all services connected with drinking water, sanitary drainage, roads and communication.
The President urged the NDP to continue to contact citizens to get to know their demands and the views of society in a faithful way in order that the party would move along the right path.
