NDP considers new amendments to its democratic march

The National Democratic Party (NDP)'s General Secretary Office under Safwat El-Sherif is considering new amendment to the democratic march in the party.

The step comes in light of amendments to its statute which were proposed and referred by the NDP conferences nationwide to the Office.

One of the most important amendments is related to the internal elections on different levels, said NDP Assistant Secretary General for organization, membership, finance and administration affairs Zakaria Azmi.

In statements on Thursday 18/10/2007, Azmi said with the transparency in the party's internal election the NDP secretariats in all governorates demand to shorten the five-year term of the officials in office.

Also under consideration by the Office, other amendments will be referred to the coming NDP general conference, Azmi added.

The NDP Policies Secretariat under chairmanship of Gamal Mubarak, the Assistant Secretary General for Policies, will discuss next Wednesday the working papers in their final form.

The NDP Secretariat has already held a meeting yesterday under chairmanship of Safwat el-Sherif to study all preparations of the NDP Congress and governorates' boards of bureaus.
