Security and Development
In Africa
Security and development are two coherent elements; you can not achieve one and abandon the other. Stable security element in a certain community could adapt the incubating environment for development, and if development element in a community achieved, it is standing to the reason of security stabilization in this community.
Most of the a African countries suffer the absence of the two elements or one of them as a result of many factors. The African countries need to discard their inheritance of odious past and to uproot all catalysts of instability, in order to give themselves the chance to till the land for the development processes.
Aids being given to the African countries will never benefit them at all, for analgesics never cured a disease before. In addition, the donor countries lately launched the decrease of their aids or directing their aids to the way that can serve their interests only.
The a African states countries are in harsh need of new policies that target the achievement of internal and external security. As for the internal security, it could be achieved by planting seeds of freedom and justice in the community land, but the external security is bounded of good relationships with the neighboring countries.
If you are given the chance to review the fair international economic reports about the economic performance in the African states, you feel the painful conditions. A report was recently released by the United Nations University in cooperation with the World Bank on the continuous decrease of the African arable lands, a matter that threatens the deficiency in the alimentary production for the African countries, and the highly increase of the number of poor people during the 20 years to come.
The report also clarified that the Africans are consuming foodstuff of 20% less than the same they were doing in the fifties of the last century. Nevertheless, seeds production had been reduced to 9% per capita from 1970 to 1997 at the time it raised in China by 48% and in India by 14%.
The report warned that 48 African countries will supply food for only 40% of their population that are predicted to reach one billion people next 2025 in case of no change in their conditions.
Such dim picture calls the African countries to take quick steps especially that God gifted them the constituents of development like the abundant natural resources never found anywhere else. Also energetic manpower is another catalyst in Africa that carries out what is required, and no doubt that most of the African peoples succeeded in excelling colony and liberating their countries in spite of the severe imparity between the two parties in capacities.
However, variety of climate conditions in the African continent also provides an ideal environment for the agricultural production. Amongst the five continents, Africa alone seems discrete in these advantages. The African countries can obtain the technological constituents of the developmental process with the assistance of the donor and developed countries, to apply the Chinese proverb of "learning how to fish than gifting fishes". The African countries have no way than to provide their security or waiting for the train of gifts.
Realizing security is a principal element to achieve development, as security is necessary for protecting individual and preserving his rights. It is also fundamentally needed for protecting the various resources of evanesce and consumption as well as important to secure the human from fear, consequently warranting his run toward innovation.
The African countries suffered more because of security absence, as this was reflected on their life conditions that became as typical as poverty. The world will never watch a scene like that of the Africans who writhe with hunger and lose security in their community, a fact that led the escape of local and foreign capitals.
Africa is now claimed to encourage the flow of capitals. Thus, it needs the prevalence of security to keep all capitals in whatever the nationality of these capitals is.
The solution is no more than an inspiration of the spirit and will of the great Africans who led the independence march and put the bases of the modern African state.
