Situation in Africa:
 
Eritrea:
 
•           Eritrea announced the appointment of Eritrean embassy in Sudan. Eritrea showed its will to mediate between the Sudanese government and the opposing east front in Sudan and organize a meeting in Asmra in 14 April.
 
Algeria:
 
•           The African meeting activities began in 3rd April in Algeria the capital. The meeting included more than 51 countries for discussing the illegitimate migration to Europe.
 
•           The National Liberation Front Party decided to present the amendment constitution project and run third presidency term for the Algerian Leader Bouteflika.
 
•           The Algerian Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia presented his resignation to president  Bouteflika in 21st   May. Bouteflika charged Mr. Abdelaziz Belkadem as Prime Minister and personal representative to Bouteflika in 25th May.
 
Sudan:
 
•           Peace talks concerning Darfur were held in Abuja in 9th April.
 
•           Abdala Masar, advisor of  President Bashir announced in 16 April that the peace process in Darfur is about to be solved.
 
•           The African Union Mediation gave the Sudanese government and the Darfur Rebel Movement in 29th April documents on the agreement  for the final security situation in Darfur region.
 
•           The Sudanese government signed in 4th May an initial agreement on Darfur peace document. The peace agreement was signed in 5th May in Abuja between the Sudanese government and the Sudanese Army Liberation Movement.
 
•           The Sudanese government showed its flexibility in 17th May for sending international peacekeeping force to Darfur instead of the African Union forces.
 
Somalia:
 
•           The Somalia government agreed in 23rd May on the existence of international peacekeeping force on its land.
 
Benin:
 
•           Benin witnessed in 9 May presidential elections with 26 candidates. Yay Bony won 35.6% votes.
 
chad:
 
•           The rebels rushed the capital Ngamenia in 14th April and the Democratic Change Union Front announced that they dominated 85% of the lands and most places in the capital. 
 
•           President of chad decided to cut off diplomatic relations with Sudan in 14th May.
 
Comoros Islands:
 
•           Ahmed Abdalla Samy won the presidential elections held in 14th May with 75% votes.
 
Mauritania:
 
•           The Mauritanian President Val asked the people to vote for the constitution amendment referendum in 25 June 2006.
 
Libya:
 
•           US decided to renew the full diplomatic relation with Libya through reopening its embassy in Tripoli.
 
Nigeria:
 
•           The Nigerian National Council members rejected in 17th May the  draft law aiming to amend the constitution to allow the Nigerian President Obasanjo for third term presidency in 2007.
