The unanimous recommendation made by the non-governmental organizations committee subordinate to the Socio-economic Council of the UN in its last meeting granting the Suzanne Mubarak International Movement for Peace consultancy came as an appreciation for the role of the movement in promoting the culture of peace in addition to what is represented by Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak's presidency to it of consciousness and interesting international work issues.
Suzanne Mubarak, Chairperson of Suzanne Mubarak's International Movement for Peace, was awarded the Dr. "Rainer Hildebrandt Medal" for her efforts supporting the role of women and youth in achieving peace and promoting peace culture in the society.
The most eloquent expression about the noble objectives of the Movement is what is said by Former German Minister of Foreign Affairs, "Hans Dietrich Genscher" who assured that Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak, chief of the Suzanne Mubarak Women's International Movement for Peace started in the Conference of International Peacemakers in Sharm el-Sheikh (City of Peace) in 2002, created one language for dialogue among different cultures and religions. Therefore, she deserves an honourary PhD. He also added that she and President Mubarak contribute in answering the most difficult question; how tot achieve peace in the Middle East.
Peace is a concept hoped by nations and peoples. Egypt gave it great concern; activating it and prevailing its concepts since old ages. On its land, many meetings, discussions and conferences seeking to achieve this noble objective were held. In Egypt, there are many movements and non-governmental organizations calling for peace as cultured people believe in the importance of peace and in their activation and achievement.
Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak is the pioneer of this movement. She established the Suzanne Mubarak International Movement for Peace as the first international initiative in the Middle East that seeks to enhance the active participation of women in the decision and peace making processes. The Movement also aims at finding alternative solutions to conflicts, developing new governments, supporting judiciary and civil infrastructure in addition to many other activities that call for peace.
The Movement succeeded in obtaining the support and cooperation of many countries creating a new kind of cooperation and participation among different civilizations and cultures.
Noble Objectives 
The Suzanne Mubarak International Movement for Peace works on achieving its noble objectives through a number of pivots. On top of which is supporting enlightenment campaigns for spreading the culture of "building a sincere society" among the youth and merging them in the system of society values of which are: tolerance, reconciliation, accepting the other, participation, responsibility and respect. By this, she aims at building abilities and enhancing the role of women and youth inside the society to guarantee the increase of their active participation and make use of their normal skills. Furthermore, she aims at supporting dialogue, communication and exchanging information in fields of peace, social justice and human security settlement. Moreover, she aims at supporting international effots aiming at achieving peace, reconciliation and rebuilding homelands.
Peace lovers
The Movement depends on sincere efforts of its members and volunteers for peace lovers in spreading its objectives and achieving its missions. The Movement set up an "International coalition" to face certain issues in fields of peace and security.
Furthermore, the Movement established "Peace Studies Institution" hosted by Bibliotheca Alexandrina as the academic branch of the Movement. It works through different partnerships with specialized institutions and establishment. The institution will carry on an important role in training the youth and provide them with skills needed to achieve consolidation and participation in settling permanent reconciliation and peace.
Since registering the Suzanne Mubarak International Movement for Peace in Geneva, June 2003, its agenda included many activities that started in November of the same year with the support of Renalph Venis, the great discoverer and peace supporter at the same time, when he passed by Egypt during the 7 continents marathon for supporting the health and peace of the world. The Movement held a camp and a march for peace at Sharm el-Sheikh with cooperation with "people for People" Organization. It is considered the first international camp for youth in Egypt. IT included 60 participants from allover the world. Its activities included sending an international call for peace to urge leaders in the world to activate the peace process, in addition to planting peace trees as symbol of friendship in the Cairo International Park. The camp ended by a march for peace where participants, tourists and residents of Sharm el-Shiekh participated in.
The list of activities also included workshops of friends of the Movement under the title "Women for Peace", in addition to a series of seminars about peace; international seminars where international speakers from the whole world lecture in it to spread the open dialogue about women's role in activating peace and human security, in addition to urging the civil society to participate in supporting peace culture.
By the advent of 2005, the Movement declared starting a new phase of working for peace in Egypt through holding a number of meetings and lectures about peace, organizing training workshops on the platform of peace culture subjected to those working with the young in libraries, civil non-governmental associations and friends of the Movement aiming at enlightening them and activating their role and merging the values of peace in their activities.
Moreover, holding summer camps for the youth to prove their abilities to innovate and to settle a renewable environment for education, acquiring skills to be able to affect their society.
Secure Society
The Movement launched the initiative "Peace in Children's Eyes" in cooperation with foreign embassies in Egypt and arrangement with a number of libraries. This initiative urges to deepen the understanding and to increase consciousness of the young of different cultures and customs. The Movement also issued the training guide for the culture of peace programme for the Young under the title of "Towards a Secure Society" coordinating with United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM). This Fund simplifies the values and concepts calling for peace for the young from 8 to 16 years. The material and contents of the training guide were prepared scientifically according to a field experiment of an Arabic stamp.
Within the framework of celebrating the 16th "Reading for All" Festival, and with coordination and cooperation between the Movement and the National Council for Youth, the Movement organized 8 cultural meetings under the slogan of "Culture is the Language of Peace" within the Arab and international camps last summer. The camps were attended by more than 4500 yuth from all governorates in the ages from 16 to 24 years.

Hot Areas
The Suzanne Mubarak International Movement for Peace continues following, with great concern, the hot areas in the Arab World. The Movement directed a call for peace expressing in it its great worry towards flagrant and continuous assaults on Lebanon. Moreover, another call for peace was directed due to the increasing violence and loss of security in Darfur at Sudan asking the international human conscience to offer aids for innocent civilians who were made homeless by strugglers.
Women Defends Peace
The Movement gives more concern to the recent events in Palestine. It formed an international group of feminine leaders, named the International Coalition for Women, defending peace. This coalition was formed in Geneva during the Conference of "Woman Defends Peace" held under the auspices of Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak, head and founder of the Movement and MRs. Michlean Calmi Rai, the Switzerland Minister of Foreign Affairs in 2005 to back the Presidential elections. Furthermore, the Movement adopted an initiative to put an end to human trade in the meeting of the Businessmen Round Table to resist human trade which was organized by the Movement in Athens. The campaign concentrates on the vital role of businessmen to help in eradication human trade.
Protecting Civilians
The Movement now expresses its great worry towards great number of peoples living under disgraceful circumstances under colonization or foreign domination. It also expresses its strong worry towards continuous violence and brutal struggles, especially in Africa and the Middle East. Furthermore, it expresses its worry towards trials aiming at shaking sovereignty of some countries in the region.
Moreover, it expresses its worry towards the disastrous increase in the number of emigrants and refugees in the world, especially in the Middle East for many reasons, of which are: armed struggles, violation of human rights, catastrophes whether by the Movement during the Round Table Meeting for "Create a Secure Environment for Civilians during Armed Struggles" held in Peace Studies Institute in Bibliotheca Alexandrina
