Abdel-Rahman Shaheen, the spokesman for the Egyptian Health and Population Ministry, stressed on Tuesday19/9/2006that none of the hospitals in the 27 Egyptian governorates had received a single human case of the deadly bird flu on Monday.
He said since the outbreak of the virus, Egyptian hospitals received 1,759 suspected human cases, all of them tested negative except 14.
He added that samples were being taken regularly from farms, chicken pens and households in accordance with decisions of the higher national committee for combating bird flu.
