"An Egyptian woman died of bird flu Monday31/12/2007 to bring to 19 the fatalities of the disease since the virus first appeared in March 2006," the Health Ministry said.

Hanem Atwa Ibrahim, aged 50, from Damietta, North of Cairo, died late Monday evening.

She was admitted to Abasiya Chest Hospital's intensive care unit Wednesday.

Meantime ,Earlier Monday the 18th case is another woman from Nile Delta's Menofiya governorate died after contracting the avian influenza.

Fardos Mohamed Haddad tested bird flu positive and was admitted to a fever hospital on Saturday suffering of fever and breathing problems.
