New human bird flu case in stable condition, 27/2/2008


Dr. Abdel-Rahman Shahin the official spokesman to the Ministry of Health said Tuesday 26/2/2008 that the health condition of the-four-year-old girl, who has been infected with the HN5 virus, is stable.

Aya Atef Mabrouk is the first human bird flu case detected in Egypt in 2008, taking to 44 the number of bird flu cases reported in the country since early 2006, Abdel-Rahman said. The case was detected in Menia governorate, Upper Egypt.

The girl was hospitalized with bird flu symptoms, including high temperature
