By this article, I wish to congratulate our National Football Squad led by Coach Hassan Shehata on their well-deserved victory. They have provided Egyptians and Arabs with a reason to celebrate and have well-earned the red-carpet reception they have been given with President Mubarak being on hand to receive them at the airport.

It is only hoped that this should mark a watershed in the history of Egyptian football. We seek to pursue our dream of playing in the 2010 World Cup finals in South Africa. We extend our gratitude to all who contributed to that achievement and to Captain Hassan Shehata, who led the National Squad to the victory which gave joy to the entire people of Egypt.
