The feelings, gushing out all over Egypt, in every town and village, in celebration of the victory achieved on the African and international fronts, is evidence that our sense of belonging to this nation is something that is innate to us all. Egyptians have waited for the right moment to show their true metal. What the National Football Squad achieved by their manly performance in the Africa Cup of Nations is a reflection of their sense of belonging.

We should, in all fairness, express our gratitude to Coach Hassan Shehata who was able to arouse the feelings of patriotism in his players. Meanwhile, their commitment to training has earned them a well-deserved victory and has crowned them champions.
