End of Development processes of stadiums 26-11-2005

Head of the organizing committee for the African Nations Cup of football, scheduled to be held in Egypt next January said that all the development processes in the specified stadiums for the championship matches are completed.

After his 3-day touring of the stadiums, Hani Abu Reida, chief of the committee added that all stadiums are completely ready after the completion of all construction activities in the stadiums of Cairo, Port Said, Ismailia and Alexandria. Besides, all branch playgrounds devoted to the trainings of all teams.

In statements to Reuters, Abu Reida said that "nothing remains of the construction processes than beautification touches due to be finished in days, such as preparing players and referees rooms as well as VIP halls".

"All stadiums and playgrounds will be delivered to the committee in the mid of December 2005 at the end of the local football tournament to start preparing press centers in all the main four stadiums. Such preparations embrace computer sets, fax and internet will be achieved at utmost 10 days and before the onset of the championship by 20 days" Abu-Reida added.

The championship media committee has already finished arrangements of issuing press cards for media men either Egyptians or foreigners from African and international mass media.

The championship will run in Egypt on January 20-February 10 with the participation of 16 African teams.
