The Higher Organizing Committee of the Africa Cup of Nations 2006 announced that Cairo Stadium will witness the international friendly championship in which Egypt, Senegal, Ecuador and Kenya will participate.

Hany Abu Reida, chief of the Organizing Committee said that Minister of Youth Dr. Mamdouh el-Beltagui, General Abdul Aziz Amin, head of Cairo Stadium Authority as well as a gathering of sport and media figures are to open the stadium next week.

The 38 electronic gates, lighting and press center will be used to make sure that Cairo Stadium is ready for Africa Cup of Nations, added Abu Reida.
