Mubarak: Democracy Based on Pluralism, Active Parties Enriching Political Life

President Hosni Mubarak accentuated on 1/11/2009 the importance of presence of active parties in enriching political life and developing the atmosphere of democracy in the country.

During his meeting with the NDP's Higher Board Sunday 1/11/2009, President Mubarak voiced belief that a multi-party system forms the crux of democracy.

President Mubarak also said that he followed up the Party's serious work over the past year, especially the NDP partisan units' elections and voiced hope such elections would further promote interaction with the masses.

President Mubarak Monday 2/11/2009 witnesses the closing session of the sixth annual conference of the National Democratic Party NDP.

The President will listen to experiments of some new party cadres in the party activity and will have dialogue with them on issues of interest to citizens.

Safwat el-Sherif, Secretary General of the National Democratic Party (NDP) said that President Mubarak called on NDP officials to continue their work with citizens and get them fully-acquainted with the Party's policies, saying that 2010 will be decisive as to Egypt's political progress.

El-Sherif said reforms and citizens ambitions will continue to top the NDP priorities.
