With media cooperation in mind, a number of Arab information ministers, including Egypt's Anas el-Fiqi, met Tuesday 3/11/2009 in Saudi Arabia to discuss mechanisms to achieve integration in information and communications.

In so doing, the ministers of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the UAE, Jordan and Palestine are implementing a ten-year plan to develop Arab media and communications until 2018.

Intellectual property rights and digital broadcasting also figured high at the talks.

The Ministers also tackled the role media play to counter terrorism.
