President Hosni Mubarak issued a decree on Tuesday 3/11/2009 restructuring the General Organization for International Exhibitions & Fairs (GOIEF) to be affiliated to the Ministry of Trade and Industry.

The organization will be renamed "Egyptian General Organization for Exhibition and Fairs."

According to the restructuring, the newly-named organization will be based in Cairo and will likely have branches inside and outside the country.

Minister of Trade and Industry Rasheed Mohamed Rasheed said the decision to restructure the organization is part of efforts to activate its role in the international fairs and exhibitions and to make use of Egypt's geographic location to lure more regional fairs and conferences.
