Minister of Petroleum Sameh Fahmi said on Wednesday 4/11/2009 that more than 90 percent of Upper Egypt gas pipeline has been finalised.

Fahmi said that this LE 5,7 billion national project comes in implementation of President Hosni Mubarak's electoral platform.

President Mubarak has confirmed that he is keen to pay great attention to the Upper Egypt people, Fahmi said.

The natural gas which has reached various Egyptian governorates and constitutes a major step to set up new urban communities and industrial zones as well as providing job opportunities for youth, the minister said.

The projects are almost finished in 21 months ahead of the timetable of 42 months, Fahmi added.
