Investment Minister Mahmoud Mohieddin and China Development Bank (CDB) senior commissioner Zhu Qingdong agreed during a meeting Wednesday 4/11/2009 to work out a programme for promoting economic and investment cooperation and give momentum to the General Authority for Economic Zone Northwest Suez Gulf (Sezone).

The two sides highlighted the importance of activating the outcomes reached during meetings between senior Egyptian and CDB officials.

Mohieddin stressed that Egypt should benefit from opening a CDB office in Cairo to boost its investments in Egypt.

Zhu stressed the bank's keenness on enhancing investment cooperation with Egypt and encouraging Chinese companies to do business in the country.

He thanked the Egyptian government, especially Premier Ahmed Nazif and Director General of the Central Bank of Egypt Farouq Oqda, for supporting opening a CDB office in Cairo, noting that opening the office was the culmination of the Chinese investment minister's visit to Egypt in September.
