Egypt-Iraq Investment, Agriculture, Science, Technology Cooperation Enhanced
 

Mohieddin and head of Iraq's National Investment Commission (NIC) Sami al-Aaraji held talks Wednesday 4/11/2009 on means of boosting bilateral investment cooperation.

The meeting also saw an agreement between the two sides on implementing a host of bilateral investment ventures, especially in construction, building materials, fertilisers, and food supplies.

The two sides also reviewed a programme aiming to develop the skills and capabilities of about 600 employees at the commission and other state institutions.

Mohieddin and Aaraji reviewed means to follow up the outcomes of mutual investment delegation visits.

During the meeting, the Egyptian Minister asserted keenness to provide all kinds of technical and investment support to Iraqi institutions and investment companies with the aim of strengthening economic ties to bring them on par with the strategic political relations.

Meanwhile, Minister of Agriculture Amin Abaza signed a memorandum of understanding with his Iraqi counterpart Akram al-Hakeem on scientific and technical cooperation in the agricultural domain.

The two sides agreed to exchange researches and experts to improve agricultural and animal wealth.

Under the agreement, relevant training courses will be organised.

Egypt and Iraq signed as well a memo of understanding on scientific cooperation in remote sensing, subterranean water and the renewable energy as well the sanitary drainage.
