Antiquities Minister urges sending back objects stolen from Mallawi Museum
Saturday, 17 August 2013

The minister of antiquities Mohamed Ibrahim called on those who have antiquities stolen from Mallawi Museum in the Upper Egypt governorate of Menya to send them back to the bodies affiliated to the ministry.

This came after the museum in question was stormed and stolen on Wednesday evening.

The minister promised not to penalize them, but rather he would reward them in case they hastened to hand over the stolen objects.

He also noted that the stolen objects are internationally recorded and recognized, thus they cannot be sold inside or even outside Egypt.
