Also known as Fisherman’s Bank, this is one of the most . impressive dives in the Ras Mohammed area. From Na’ama Bay ,it is an easy 75 minute sail south. The site is best dived in the early morning as the sun lights the reef. The dive itself starts close to a small bay with white markings on a vertical cliff face.
The Ras Mohammed headland is just over 1 mile south. The Jackfish Alley dive has an impressive start where, at a depth of 5-6 meters, you can enter one of two caves. The first extends into the reef for some distance.
On entry to the cave, simply turn left and re-enter open water. Do not proceed into the cave as there is no exit. Further along, you will come to a large coral outcrop which is opposite to the second cave. This extends vertically to approximately 3-4 meters from the surface, and is home to many glass fish. On leaving the cave, keep the main reef on your right. Continue along the coral garden to finish the dive beside a coral head abundant in small marine life.
Sometimes entry to the water and re-entry to the dive boat can be difficult due to the local tidal conditions or sea breezes which cause a high swell. Jackfish Alley can be dived from north to south or vice versa, finishing at the caves. A super dive for photographers.
