12 states participate in 15th Sharkeya Arabian Horses Festival

The 15th Sharkeya Arabian Horses Festival will be held on Cairo-Belbes desert road under the auspices of Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif. El-Sharkeya governorate organizes the annual horses festival in cooperation with the Regional Authority for Activating Tourism.

Counselor Yehya Abdel Meged, governor of El-Sharkeya said that the festival became on of touristic distinguished events as shown by the increasing number of participants every year from different countries. It represents an opportunity for lovers of horse sport through different competitions, he added.

The festival includes, this year, five championships topped by the Eighth Championship of Show-Jumping on President Mubarak's Cup in which 400 jockeys will be competing and also the Sixth Open Championship of Show-Jumping.

The Unregistered Championship of Arabian Horses' Beauty and the Registered Championship of the Horses' Manners for Sharkeya Governorate Cup and the Unregistered Championship of Horses' manners.

The festival also includes five shows at the end of the festival on September 2. The shows include the Armed Forces Music Show, and a musical dressage show performed, for the first time in Egypt, by a rider and his son as a sort of continuance of generations and preserve of the Arabian tradition.
