Egypt wins WTO Executive Council membership

Meeting of the 16th General Assembly of the World Tourism Organisation (WTO) closed in Senegal, with the participation of delegations representing 150 member countries, in addition to representatives of the tourism private sector and the organizations and authorities affiliated to the WTO worldwide.
 
A large number of tourism ministers have taken part in the meetings, in addition to a large number of journalists and travel writers.
 
Egypt's delegation was chaired by Egyptian Tourist Authority Chairman Ahmed El Khadem. The delegation also included Egyptian Ambassador in Senegal Sanaa Fathallah, Chairman of Egyptian Tourism Federation Elhami El Zayat, Tourism Ministry Undersecretary for Planning and Research Nadia Abdel Magid and General Manager of the Tourism Federation Hisham Za'zouq.
 
Egypt won the membership of the WTO Executive Council, which is regarded as the most important constructive part of the organization.
 
According to Mr Khadem, the meetings were the most important as they were attended by representatives of 150 countries and a large number of ministers."There was a very good Arab representation.
 

Egypt has also won the member ship of a number of affiliated committees such as the Middle East Committee, Crises Committee, Child Labour Combat Committee and the organisation's Charter of Honour Committee; in addition to winning the membership of the Executive Council for the years 2007 and 2008," said Mr Khadem.
