Monday، 18 April 2016 - 11:38 AM

(June 9, 1967  – June 11, 1967)

Zakariyah Mohey EL-Din was one of the distinctive free officers in the political arena in Egypt since the eruption of the July 1952 revolution. He assumed the office of Prime Minister, Vice President and the first head of the Intelligence.

Mohey El-Din had the shortest term of office in Egypt, which lasted for two days after former president Gamal Abdel Nasser had stepped down from power after 1967 defeat on 9 June, but the masses took to the streets calling on Gamal Abdel Nasser to remain in power.

As a result Mohey El-Din resigned and abandoned political life in 1968.
