Interior Minister meets German counterpart

The terrorist attacks and bombs which recently targeted a number of countries affirmed Egypt's viewpoint regarding the spread of terrorism and the threat it poses to several world countries, said Interior Minister Magdy Abdel Ghaffar.
During his meeting with his German counterpart Thomas de Maiziere on Monday 11/7/2016, Abdel Ghaffar underlined the need of rallying international efforts to confront all the extremist organizations.
The two ministers also discussed cooperation between Egypt and Germany in various security spheres.
The two sides also signed an agreement for cooperation in the security sector between Egypt and Germany.
During the session of talks with his German counterpart, Abdel Ghaffar conveyed the greetings of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to German Chancellor Angela Merkel and the German people.
Abdel Ghaffar also said that the relations between the two countries witnessed remarkable development at the various political, cultural and security spheres.
He further said that the interior ministries in Egypt and Germany share identical viewpoints regarding the security challenges which confront the two countries.
The German interior minister, meanwhile, voiced appreciation to Egypt's status at the regional and international arenas.
He also hailed security efforts of the Egyptian security bodies and their success in combating terrorism.
He also pointed to his recent visit to Egypt and the fruitful talks he held with his Egyptian counterpart.
The German minister further pointed out the importance of benefiting from the security cooperation agreement signed between Egypt and Germany to develop cooperation with the Egyptian Interior Ministry, especially in securing airports and combating illegal immigration.
