Egypt nominates Moushira Khattab for chief UNESCO post

Egypt's Prime Minister on Tuesday 19/7/2016 announced the nomination of ex-state minister of population Moushira Khattab for the post of director-general of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO).
Sherif Ismail made the announcement during a cultural dialogue gathering on UNESCO under the theme "Egypt, UNESCO and international cultural issues" that kicked off at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo late on Tuesday.
The meeting was attended by former prime minister Ibrahim Mahlab and the ministers of foreign Affairs, antiquities, higher education, culture, education, and sports.
The premier made the announced the nomination of Ambassadress Khattab, saying she can represent the culture in Egypt, Arab World, Africa and the Mediterranean Sean area.
Earlier, the 27th African Union Summit accepted Egypt’s request to support Ambassadress Khattab for the post.
