Egyptian people, government condemn terrorist attack in Sinai

The Egyptian Cabinet on Friday 14/10/2016 condemned a terrorist attack on a security checkpoint in North Sinai that left 12 soldiers dead and others wounded earlier in the day.
In a statement, Prime Minister Sherif Ismail said the Egyptian State is determined to purge the country from terrorism, defeat the powers of darkness and ignorance and complete the construction and development process.
He spoke highly of sacrifices by the brave men of the Armed Forces to safeguard the nation and protect citizens.
Parliament speaker mourns martyrs of Sinai terrorist attack
Speaker of the House of Representatives Ali Abdel Aal mourned the martyrs of a terrorist attack on a military checkpoint in North Sinai on Friday, leaving 12 servicemen dead and six others injured.
In a statement, Abdel Aal termed as "heinous" such terrorist acts committed by misled groups that target the State and seek to destabilize the country.
He asserted that such criminal acts will be doomed, adding these acts will strengthen the resolve of the Egyptian government and people to uproot terrorism.
