Sisi urges intensive efforts to boost economic growth rates

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi held a meeting on Saturday 14/01/2017 with Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt Tarek Amer as well as the ministers of defense, interior, justice and finance.
The heads of the General Intelligence Service and Administrative Control Authority attended the meeting, Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef said.
The talks tackled the security conditions in the country, especially in Sinai where the Armed Forces and police carry out operations against terrorists, Youssef said.
The president hailed efforts exerted by the Armed Forces and police to protect Egypt, voicing appreciation for the great sacrifices they offered.
He underlined the importance of being vigilant and on high alert while proceeding with the efforts to tighten the net around terrorists and arrest them.
The president underlined the importance of monitoring all stages of food production to ensure its safety.
The meeting also reviewed the recent rise in medicine prices. The president underlined the importance of monitoring the medicine market.
Sisi gave directives to alleviate the suffering of Egyptians, especially low-income segments, and expand social protection programs.
The president also urged intensifying efforts to boost the economic growth rate, especially through luring more foreign investments, encouraging private sector's contribution to the development process and increasing Egyptian exports.
