Sisi directs to take required measures to protect land, sea borders, vital facilities

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Thursday 19/01/2017 directed all concerned authorities to take required measures to protect the country’s land and sea borders and vital facilities.

This came during the president’s meeting with the prime minister, the governor of the Central Bank of Egypt, the ministers of defense, military production, foreign, interior, justice and supply and heads of the general intelligence agency and Administrative Control Authority, Presidency Spokesman Alaa Youssef said.

The meeting also discussed the latest regional and international developments, including international efforts to reach a settlement to the political crises in the region.

They also reviewed the economic situation in Egypt especially after the government's recent measures that aim to reform the economy via rationalizing spending and cutting the budget deficit.

During the meeting, CBE governor presented a report concerning the measures taken to establish the National Council for Payments in order to help in switching to the cashless economy and to merge between the official and unofficial economy.

The meeting also discussed ways to develop consumer complexes; large commercial complexes.

The president directed the government to continue its efforts to reduce the budget deficit, take the steps needed as part of economic reforms, expand social programs and provide the main food commodities for the citizens at affordable prices.
