President Sisi says Chinese-Egyptian Culture Year 'fruitful"

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi announced that the Chinese-Egyptian Culture Year wrapped up with great achievements at the official and popular levels.

Addressing a ceremony in Quanzhou on behalf of the president, Culture Minister Helmi el Namnam said the culture year drew to an end successfully with a number of various activities which were seen as a breakthrough for more cooperation.

In the message, President Sisi said the activities launched during Chinese President's Visit to Egypt were the start of a new beginning for closer ties and cooperation.

President Sisi highlighted special ties linking the two countries, asserting Cairo is keen on boosting relations at a higher strategic level.

The two countries are keen on supporting security and peace, he said, adding that Egypt and China would coordinate efforts and cultural cooperation.

The Sino-Egyptian culture year marked the 60th anniversary of joint diplomatic relations and was crowned with a number of agreements signed by President Sisi and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
