Sisi receives US House delegation

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received on Sunday 12/2/2017 a delegation of the US House of Representatives.
President Sisi hailed as strong relations between Cairo and Washington, expressing desire to further boost joint cooperation and coordination with the new US administration, said presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef.
The US delegates stressed support for all efforts to enhance bilateral relations with Egypt, especially after President Donald Trump came to office, Youssef said.
He added that the delegates are looking forward to meeting president Sisi soon in Washington. It would be a good chance to talk in detail about means to upgrade bilateral relations, Youssef quoted the delegates as having said.
Sisi posted the delegates on Egypt's efforts for fighting terrorism, especially through renewing the religious discourse, the spokesman added. He called for intensifying international efforts to stop funding of terrorist organizations, Youssef noted.
The meeting also took up the latest regional developments, with Sisi stressing the importance of maintaining sovereignty of countries in the region, the spokesman said. Sisi also talked about Egypt's non-stop efforts to revive the Middle East peace process, noting that a two-state solution would help achieve stability in the region, Youssef added.
