CAPMAS: 63% increase in cotton exports in 1st quarter of 2016-2107

The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) stated on Thursday that Egyptian cotton exports in the period between September and November 2016 reached 202,500 metric quintals compared to 123,600 metric quintals during the same period last year, representing around 63 percent increase.

The Agency said in its quarterly newsletter for the first quarter of the 2016-2017 agricultural year that total consumption rates of domestic cotton reached 107,000 metric quintals, compared to 113,000 metric quintals during the same period of the previous year, recording a decrease of 3.5 percent.
