Friday، 17 February 2017 - 03:34 PM

The development of Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) will be on top of priorities of the Egyptian-European partnership, Chargé d'Affaires of the EU Delegation in Egypt Reinhold Brender asserted on Thursday 16/02/2017.
He made the remarks on the occasion of launching the EU-funded project “Supporting the SCZone: Towards Active and Sustainable Economic Zone”.
Brender expressed hope that the new project, carried out by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) will contribute to developing the SCZone to occupy a leading position on the global investment map.
The project will help attract more investors as it will provide support for improving the regulatory framework applicable in the Zone, Brender noted.
Also, the project will pave the way for a long-term cooperation as it will define the future aspects of bilateral cooperation, according to Brender.
The EU seeks to achieve comprehensive economic growth in Egypt and create more jobs to provide an attractive investment climate, Brender said.
The EU is the most important source of foreign direct investments in Egypt, and therefore it works on backing programs that aim to enhance the investment atmosphere, Brender added.
