Egypt, Iraq discuss means of fostering joint economic relations

Minister of Trade and Industry Tareq Qabil met on Thursday 16/02/2017 with Iraqi Minister of Planning Salman al-Jumaili, during a visit to Egypt.

The two ministers discussed means of promoting trade and economic relations between Egypt and Iraq with the aim of achieving progress in the trade movement and value of investments within the coming period.

Qabil said the Egyptian government is eager to expand the volume of joint economic relations with Iraq, particularly in light of the two countries' political desire to push up bilateral relations, the Ministry of Trade and Industry said in a statement on Thursday.

Jumaili meanwhile affirmed the Iraqi government's keenness on being open to the Egyptian market in light of the close ties binding Baghdad and Cairo.
