Egyptian Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr said that the support of international financial institutions will help the Egyptian economic reform program attain its goals.
Addressing the G24 ministerial meeting held on the fringe of the spring meetings of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund, she underlined that the goals of the ambitious economic reform program can never be achieved without effective contribution by the private sector.
The Minister stressed that Egypt was carrying out major economic reforms to realize economic development. She said tangible steps were taken to encourage investments.
The government's economic reform program seeks to empower women and youths, improve the business climate, promote private sector contribution, secure jobs, combat corruption and develop needy areas, she expounded.
The State gives top priority to developing education which is a key step for realizing sustainable development, she said, noting that education played a vital role in Egypt's fight against terrorism and extremism.
Nasr added that measures were taken to remove the obstacles facing the private sector and foreign investors in Egypt.
She added that building a powerful economy requires strong partnership with international financial institutions and development partners, expounding that Egypt like other developing countries need the help of the World Bank to realize development, expand investments and build a strong economy.
