Egyptian Women Can conference
Thursday، 29 June 2017 - 11:32 AM
Under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, the "Egyptian Women Can" Conference organized by the Ministry of State for Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs in cooperation with the National Council for Women will be held in Cairo on July 2-3.
Up to 31 leading immigrant Egyptian women approved to take part in the conference.
The conference is meant to shed light on achievements realized by Egyptian women abroad in the scientific and economic domains with a view to benefiting from their experience in boosting the development process inside Egypt.
Several ministries and bodies concerned are taking part in the event including the ministries of higher education and scientific research, social solidarity, justice, international cooperation and investment, health and trade and industry along with the State Information Service and civil society organizations.
The proposal of holding a conference for distinguished immigrant women was floated after President Sisi announced 2017 the year of Egyptian women and after the national initiative for empowering Egyptian women that was put forth by President Sisi in March.
The conference will help create a link between distinguished immigrant Egyptian women and open-minded people inside Egypt for creating female cadres who are capable to contribute to achieving sustainable development as part of the "2030 Egypt" strategy.
The event is also aimed at building trust between the elite immigrant Egyptian women and representatives of the government and civil society association in the various important domains.
The conference is part of several similar events that are aimed at connecting expatriate Egyptian scientists and experts with their homeland. A similar event was held in Hurghada in December under the auspices of President Sisi where up to 35 renowned expatriate Egyptian scientists and experts took part.
