The government works on improving health and education services offered to citizens, in addition to developing infrastructure, Prime Minister Sherif Ismail asserted on Saturday 15/7/2017.
Speaking at the headquarters of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), Ismail said that he discussed in a meeting with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi the progress made in the file of removing encroachments on state-owned lands.
Also, the meeting touched on the government’s measures to control prices in markets and provide all basic commodities for citizens, Ismail added.
Furthermore, the premier denied reports of raising the price of subsidized bread.
In the political sphere, Ismail stressed that the state’s battle against terrorism is continuous, calling on all Egyptians to unite to uproot this scourge.
In a related context, he hailed all efforts exerted by security bodies to eradicate terrorism, stressing that Egypt is safe.
In an interview with the state-run television, Ismail affirmed that Egypt does utmost to confront states that support terrorism, pointing out that several terrorist attempts against Egyptians had been foiled thanks to the vigilance of security bodies.
The government's endeavors to improve economy are in parallel with the ongoing battle against terrorism, Ismail noted, confirming that the economic reform measures will continue.
About 19.8 million of ration cards have been updated, Ismail said.
He noted that a recent hike in key deposit and lending rates is temporary to curb inflation.
