Sisi heads to China for BRICS Summit

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has headed for China on a several days' visit at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping to attend the BRICS Summit and Business Forum.
The gathering is meant to promote cooperation and coordination among the bloc's member states, particularly at the economic level.
China was keen on inviting Egypt to participate in the meetings as one of the promising economies in the world. BRICS accounts for around 22% of the world economic output.
In a recent interview with Chinese media on the occasion of his visit to China, President Sisi reviewed Egyptian-Chinese relations, lauding as distinguished the ties and the strategic partnership between Cairo and Beijing.
