Minister of Antiquities Khaled Anani inspected on Friday 08/09/2017 the under-renovation Avenue of the Sphinxes during his visit to Luxor.
The minister was accompanied by Luxor Governor Mohamed Badr and a number of senior officials as well as reporters. He asserted that the avenue would help in promoting tourism in Luxor and Egypt after finalizing the restoration work.
This inspection tour comes on the sidelines of a ceremony of opening a newly-discovered tomb in Dra Abu el-Naga on the West Bank of the Nile.
The minister said that the tomb includes many artifacts in good condition.
The Avenue of the Sphinxes is a 3km ancient processional route that once linked Luxor temple with the Temple of Mut at Karnak to the south.
