FM takes part in inaugural session of IAPTC annual conference

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry took part on Monday 11/9/2017 in the inaugural session of the 23rd annual conference of the International Association of Peacekeeping Training Centers (IAPTC).
The conference is attended by 300 high-ranking international officials from 55 states, regional and international organizations and major training and research centers operating in the field of peacekeeping missions.
The conference is the biggest annual event of IAPTC and it is the first time to convene in a Middle Eastern country.
Cairo hosted the conference to reflect its keenness on maintaining its important role in the peacekeeping missions. Egypt is the third biggest contributor with military experts in the peacekeeping missions and ranks fifth among participants with police troops. Cairo also ranked seventh on the list of countries deploying military troops in conflict areas.
The conference is organized through coordination among the ministries of defense, foreign affairs and interior along with other ministries including the tourism, culture and civil aviation.
An exhibition on peacekeeping missions will be held on the fringe of the conference.
