Defense Min. back home from S.Korea

Egypt’s Defense Minister Sedqi Sobhi returned home on Friday, wrapping up a several-day visit to South Korea.
During his stay, Sobhi held fruitful talks with his Korean counterpart Song Young-moo and a number of top military commanders on ways of boosting defense cooperation between the two countries’ armed forces.
Also, he discussed with South Korean Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha a number of regional and international issues, the current challenges in the region and the ongoing efforts to uproot terrorism and bring about security and stability in the Middle East.
Sobhi toured a host of military facilities, including a visit to a dockyard and the Jianhai naval base, where he met the South Korean navy commander.
Furthermore, the army commander inspected a military ship that it is expected to join the Egyptian maritime fleet in the coming period.
A meeting was held between Sobhi and a raft of South Korean companies working in the military field, with the aim of fostering bilateral cooperation and exchanging expertise in various areas.
