Wednesday، 27 September 2017 - 01:38 PM

Indian Ambassador in Cairo Sanjay Bhattacharyya is pleased with a promotional campaign launched in Egypt with the aim to shed light on tourist destinations in his country.

Twelve buses of the Cairo Transport Authority (CTA) will bear posters showing places to visit in the Asian country as part of the “Wonders of India” campaign, which lasts for one month.

Hopefully, the campaign would attract more Egyptian tourists to India, Bhattacharyya said in statements to MENA on Tuesday26/9/2017.

New Delhi is seeking to boost cooperation between the tourism sectors of India and Egypt, Bhattacharyya said, asserting that Egyptians would feel at home in India.

He put the number of Indian tourists who visited Egypt in 2016 at about 120,000, while only 18,000 Egyptians flew to India.

Information, offers and activities should be made available in Egypt and in New Delhi to help citizens of both countries make the decision to exchange visits, Bhattacharyya noted.
