Egypt, France to compete in UNESCO run-off on Friday

Chairman of the Executive Board of UNESCO Michael Worbs said Thursday that Egypt and France will face off in a run-off on Friday 2 p.m. Paris time to decide the runner up of the UNESCO election to select its new director general.
Both countries got 18 votes during the fourth round of the election, while Qatar led with a total of 22 votes.
Worbs explained that the winner of the run-off will compete with Qatar's candidate on Friday evening in the fifth and final round of the vote to select the new UNESCO chief.
