Sisi: Alamein battle anniversary catalyst for more efforts to realize peace

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi took part on Saturday 21/10/2017 in a celebration marking the 75th anniversary of the Alamein battle.
Australia Governor-General Peter Cosgrove attended the anniversary celebration alongside a number of ministers and representatives from 14 states.
The prime minister and the defense minister attended the event along with a number of ministers.
Delivering a speech on the event, Sisi said the Alamein battle anniversary constitutes an impetus for exerting more efforts to realize peace, especially in the Middle East which faces prelious crises.
The President said the unprecedented crises are posing threat to security in the region.
People in the Middle East are looking forward to a stable and decent life, he said, urging the international community to exert all needed efforts to meet people's aspirations.
Sisi noted that the establishment of the new Alamein city was meant to underline the importance of peace and construction.
Meanwhile, Cosgrove highlighted the key role of the Alamein battle in the Second World War, lauding Egypt's efforts to realize and maintain peace.
Sisi then accompanied his guests to visit the Alamein military museum after its renovation where the curator expounded all stages of establishing and developing the museum.
