Egypt’s political leadership issued directives to foster cooperation with African countries, given that there are close ties binding Egypt with them in several fields, Minister of Agriculture Abdel Mon’em el Banna said.

The minister made the remarks following his meeting with Djibouti’s Ambassador to Egypt Mohamed Zhr Hrsy to discuss means of boosting cooperation between the two countries.

Djibouti’s ambassador voiced desire to benefit from the Egyptian experience in the agriculture field and increase Egypt’s exports to the African country.

The diplomat called for launching a direct maritime line between the two countries.

The two sides agreed that Egypt will provide Djibouti with seedlings and seeds for its dry areas, with Cairo dispatching experts in land reclamation and livestock to probe the possibility of setting up a joint model farm in the country.
