The Egyptian delegation to the United Nations (UN) managed to help adopt two new resolutions in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) on fighting terrorism.
The first one is related to standing up to recruiting foreign fighters by terrorist groups and the second about renewing the executive mechanism of the committee on fighting terrorism, said the Egyptian Foreign Ministry in a released statement on Friday.
Egyptian permanent representative to the UN Ambassador Amr Abul Atta said in his statement at the UNSC session which adopted the first resolution that this state of affairs constitutes a dangerous aspect of the threat of terrorism.
He underlined the danger of the spread of the practice of recruiting foreign fighters and their ability to move from Iraq and Syria to other countries and regions.
Addressing the UNSC session which adopted the second resolution, he underscored the important role of the executive mechanism of the committee on fighting terrorism.
