Egyptian amb. in Riyadh, Muslim World League chief discuss efforts to reform religious discourse

Egyptian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Naser Hamdi discussed with Secretary General of the Muslim World League Mohammad bin Abdul Karim al Issa in Riyadh efforts to reform the religious discourse.
Hamdi said in a statement on Thursday 11/01/2018 that the meeting touched on the strong ties binding the pan- Islamic body with Al Azhar al Sharif and means to develop such cooperation in various forums as well as among Islamic communities in various countries so that the Islamic communities would be able to achieve integration in western societies.
As well, they tackled the necessity of rallying efforts to rectify the religious discourse with the aim of preventing the extremist and terrorist groups from manipulating misconceptions to recruit the youth.
They also highlighted the importance of adjusting the media performance to contribute to correcting misconceptions and eliminating extremism in the region, Hamdi further said.
